Gun Running

So yesterday I sold my MP5 airsoft electric gun.  Here are the reasons and chain of events.

After a couple of games of airsoft, I realized that my MP5K was underpowered for my team mates rifles which gave me some kind of insecurity especially when my enemies are far away.  The problem with the MP5K-PDW was that it was too small and weak so when I had a target at about 20meters away, I’d have to fire in full automatic since the BB’s would scatter off target.  Thought the MP5K-PDW  was very effectiveclose range and very compact, I needed a gun with longer range, higher muzzle velocity and greater accuracy.  I also needed a gun that was compact.

I was first eyeing the M4-CQB carbine rifle but since Muymra, my office mate, already got his  I wanted something new.   One more option I had was the G36C but again Psalm and Phillip already had theirs.

I needed a long barrel on a short gun so the bullpup assembly was my choice and I decided that I would get the Steyr AUG, the weapon of the future whose biggest flaw was that it was a weapon before its time.

The Steyr AUG is a bullpup assembly rifle designed to be a short gun with a long barrel.  The AUG was released in 1977 and its design was unprecedented.   The effectivity of the weapon was also so superb that it inspired the British standard service rifle, the SA80, the French standard service rifle, the FA-MAS, and the future Israeli standard service rifle, TAVOR-21.  Today, the Steyr AUG is the standard service weapon of the Australian Defence Force / Australian Army and other armies mostly in Europe.

Last June 19, Psalm sent me a link in the forum about a JG Steyr AUG for sale for a really reasonable and affordable price.  At the time I was trying to convince my brother to buy my MP5 but he had no time to play anyway so I went on to sell it.  Sold in less that 24 hours, I already had the money to purchase the JG Steyr AUG and again in less than 24 hours I had my AUG in my hands.

I was amazed how fast these transactions occurred, when I sold my MP5, I met the buyer at a Church in a mall and in less than 10 minutes after shaking hands, money was exchanged and we were on our way.  The same happened when I purchased the AUG, I met the seller at a gasoline station where both our cars were parked and after a handshake, the AUG was in my backseat and of course money had exchanged hands.

Not thatairsoft guns are illegal here, it’s just better to keep it discreet so no stupid trigger-happy police officer would harass us.  Anyway, now I have my AUG and on Saturday it’s gonna get some game time!
